“Flabbergasted” is one word that I could use to describe how I and many other people around the world feel right now. While the intention of this blog is to talk about fashion and wine trends and how they often complement each other, I’m finding it difficult to comprehend anything else at the moment.
I was trying to avoid wading in on the US elections. This was mainly because I felt that the outcome was going to be different. I must admit as the buildup to ‘D-Day’ was looming, I did feel a heightened trepidation. Like the majority, I wanted the best outcome, because at the end of the day this is not just about the USA, it’s about the world.
But even still, after Hillary Clinton conceded defeat, she showed grace, intelligence and humbleness. In times of trouble, she was still able to speak on behalf of every woman, sharing her hope:
“To all the young women who put their faith in this campaign and in me, I want you to know that nothing has made me prouder than to be your champion.” — Hillary Clinton
It makes me proud to be a woman in 2016. Knowing there are other strong women out there, willing to take on others, willing to make a stand and remain tall, and willing to fight for what they believe in. It is something that we can all take away from this.
This week, on behalf of the all the other strong-willed women out there who’re looking to make a difference, I’m going to explore the power suit and how easy it is to make a positive first impression through your look whether it’s for a job interview, a day in the office or some other occasion.
In other WTF news, it snowed today! Even by the UK standards this is ‘unexpected’ and ‘unusual’ for early November! So in light of this, we’ll take a look at winter coats, the must-have colours, and which wines are the perfect winter warmers!
Stay tuned. Till next time…
